Canon Lens Recommendation

So, maybe some members can help me out here. For the past year or so I've started into photography and have been shooting with a Canon G10. I love the camera, it's a great portable setup that served me well on my trip to South Korea and beyond. But, now I'm looking to get a DSLR and I need some help on lens selection.

I'm looking to buy a Canon 50D, but I'm not sure what lens I should be getting. Honestly right now I like to shoot different settings but I can't afford more than one lens at this time. So I'm looking for I guess a more capable multi use lens. The website I'm going to purchase the camera from gives me an option of body only($949), 18-200mm(1499) and 28-135mm(1129) lens. Are these worth spending money on? If so which one would you recommend? I plan on using the camera for cars...wildlife...Sorry for being so vague. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on these lens's (or any others) that would be suggested to me for a good all around starter lens.
