The contract usually states that the leaser is responsible for keeping up with scheduled maintenance, there is usually no requirement to go to the dealer. Just need an oil change every 5000 miles with a suitable oil and a minor service every 10000 miles. I'm not familiar with the MB contracts so don't know what they have written into the fine print.

Although I'm semi-OCD on my Z's oil changes, I have personally met people who allow 2, 3, even 4 years between oil changes!; especially single moms/divorced women--regardless of how much mileage they put on their rides annually. The astonishing part is that NONE of 'em have had their cars "break down" (i.e. any major OR minor engine trouble or repairs!) I, personally, wouldn't risk my Z's engine getting that sludge build up, but I'm convinced that some vehicles can actually take that kinda treatment and go for miles and/or years w./o. problems. I just ain't taking that chance on my sweet beaZt!
