Old school FPS: Tribes 2

You can download the game for free and the online client at TribesNext | Tribes 2 Online Multiplayer. There are about 300-400 players online at any given time so it's not too hard to find a reasonably full server to bring back some memories. It's still awesome... I only wish it was as active as it used to be back then.

used the play with 57th, HO. Was damn good at it too. Was even better capping/shrikes... but they never let me play that in a match... guess learning how to move as an HO helped.
Discovered something back in the day.. if you're coming down way too fast, you can do an opposite disc jump.. a disc brake. shoot it at the ground as you're coming into the blast radius. |

if i wanted to play an old game, i'd break out my joystick and play mechwarrior 4 again. i was the sniper in my old clan, and i bet i can still clock someone in the head with a gauss round from a good 800m away

It's so much fun... still such a blast to play.
It really is all about keeping your momentum up, conserving your energy pack, and just learning how to lead your shots with the spinfuser. That thing is a beast if you can really get to know it well.

It's great fun. The best server on there right now is "Goon Haven." It's usually filled with 40+ and plays the classic-style capture the flag maps.
