my parents and wife found a couple of nice houses a while back when we were searching for our home. all looked nice and fully featured, but some had those pillars in the garage.
first sight of them i told my wife and the realtor 'we have a problem ' i needed to be able to detail my cars in da garage.. and those pillars would get into the way. ended up waiting on a new home getting built with a 2.5 car width garage and no pillars, and told the builder to keep da walls unfinished (more room to puts stuff into, while it may not look as nice). still ended up not 100% satisfied though as i need a 4 car garage now.. |

Yeah. I was also told the 12,000 lumen output is incorrect. Because I'm running a driver on each pair of strips, it's closer to 16,000 to 20,000. All I know is they are very bright.

i have flouresent lamps place on the walls as it gives better lighting for doors and lower panels while detailing. not sure if u want to try dat too.
i think next time around i would do LED's in the floor.. |

I paint a lot of stuff, so I find myself welding brackets on there to hang stuff I'm painting. Handy for all kinds of rigging.

yah but i still see shaded areas. u want to try to get all the sides and no shaded area... well dats if u plan to do detailing in the garage.
i think better to have multiple lighting along the walls surrounding the cars vs just lights on the ceilings. |

Yeah, it's a little uncomfortable to look up at them.

I still have 8 more of those led boards. I plan to make some stand alone units... hence all the extra outlets.

yah, just wall mount those 8 or more u have on the walls and u should have all the lighting u need. try to get as much stuff off the floor especially in a smaller garage.
it's better to disperse the lights even if it's not super bright vs 2 super bright lights on the ceiling. as long as the colors are similar should be no issue using multiple lights. |
