Australian Avian: Presenting the Wedge-Tailed Eagle
2 Attachment(s)
Been in the press down under recently ...............
Enter Wedge-Tailed Eagle ..... big mother, wing-span up to 2.84metres (about 9 feet). First photo is one in the wild - just picked up a fox .... And second image was taken at Uluru a few days ago when the local raptor trainer was demonstration flying (brings new meaning to the term "flying the bird") his Wedge-Tail. 10-year old was head-down playing with his i-thingy (sorry, I am technologically illiterate and come from a generation when a phone was something you used to speak to people on the other side of the continent) 'cos he was "bored" and with his hoodie "up" the bird got confused about where his reward for being such a huge fark-off bird actually was, and tried to escape with the child's head !! |
Cool. It drops the fox from up high before feeding on it.

Cool!
