Last year I adopted two young cats that were rescued from being dog toys at a couple weeks of age. They're brothers and have very different personalities. The smaller guy has always been the dominant one even though his brother is now about a pound and a half heavier. The smaller one is also ambivalent about affection, only accepting it on his terms. I can hold him for about ten seconds before he HAS to get down. His brother could happily spend the rest of his life being held.

They are such fun and they know who takes care of them. My new cat is very sociable, and wants constant attention. Maybe one of these days I will get her a kitten to play with.
