That'll buy you a fairly competent basic laptop that can edit photos and watch Netflix. Or it will buy you a fairly high powered desktop.

That is around what I am looking at spending for a laptop also. My Dell 1720 Inspiron from 2007 is finally starting to get too slow for me

I'm on my work PC.
Work PC is remoted via teamviewer into my Home PC.
I will launch my VPN and MSTSC on my Home PC to remote into my Work PC.
