Toxic 350Z Forums!

Well, over a year ago, I was young, huge fan of Z's and wanted to buy a 350Z so i went on the forums to discuss financial questions. They completely shut down 16 year old me, called me stupid, too young and an idiot and wished car accidents upon me. It is now 2016, I am 18 years old and I am a proud owner of a 370Z! I decided to be petty because they deserved it and bump that thread from such a long time ago telling them my new purchase and you guys might want to take a look at their replies.. Lol. I am thankful for the Z34 community, decent people. MY PARENTS DID NOT BUY THE CAR FOR ME, I SOLD MY OLD CAR, SAVED UP, WORKED HARD AND PURCHASED IT. Some people on those forums were quick to call me spoiled so I had to throw that in there.
Up and coming owner of a 350Z.. Hopefully. - Page 4 - MY350Z.COM Forums

I just don't understand what goes through peoples heads wishing someone who practically owns the same car as them, wishing I get into a car wreck!

What a circus in that 350z forum. This is definitely not that kind of forum. You will find mature, respectful members in here.

dP3NGU1N 04-01-2016 04:30 PM

I don't know... I went and read through the 350z forum posts and I don't think you would have gotten any different advice here. If you look past the crass words, you'll see they're giving, otherwise, sound advice. Something many of us on this forum have advised younger drivers. Of course, being young and stupid, they never listen but that's their prerogative.

They didn't wish you to crash until you went back like a little cun7 and said, "**** you". Honestly, you showed how immature you really are with that one action. Not saying their response is justified, just pointing out that you probably can't even see that you lack impulse control. And I'm not saying you're going to go and wreck your car nor do I wish you to, but your attitude screams "entitled" and "defensive". If you go back and read a couple of your old posts you might see what I'm saying.

A quick example is having your mate ride in the boot of the car and when Kenchan commented your response was "can't I have some fun?" (entitled) and "it was a last resort" (defensive). Sure, have some fun. It's always fun when no one gets hurt and you don't get caught. But the moment you see sirens, or you do get in an accident, even if it's not your fault. You're going to feel really stupid when your buddy gets hurt over doing something as petty as joy riding in the back. Did I do that when I was a kid? Sure. Would I do it now? No, because I'm older and know that the superfluous fun that we have doing that is no longer worth the possibility of injury.

Just my two cents. :twocents:

Welcome aboard. Congrats on your Z. Lots to be said when you work hard for the things you like. I myself appreciate it more. Great and helpful people here (many funny ones too) AND have a few who got their share of claim to flame because of the silly things they said. What ever you do don't go ask about which oil, AT vs. MT, or talk about or support street racing.

LA370z 04-01-2016 04:47 PM

I stumbled on that place by accident when I was searching on wheel spacers. They actually have a thread about how the 370z sucks and Nissan made a mistake by making it. I think that I lost 20 IQ points just by reading some of the replies within that thread.

SOUTHZZ 04-01-2016 04:49 PM

I've been a member of Z forums for---quite a few years.
Incl the one I believe the OP is mentioning.
What I have observed,forums/boards evolve.
Years ago THAT forum flammed every newbie, person asking
any question before searching(not a bad idea).There were 3-4
members that dominated. Unless you:lowered, bought %$#@ wheels you were a
chump...
Don't know if its the same now.
Why should we care.

My brain hurts from reading their forums.... :icon14:
Just baffles me.. the audacity of some...

+1000 on that forum going to sh1t!

Welcome, enjoy the ride!

bflo370z 04-01-2016 07:02 PM

That forum along with g35driver are now garbage. I was a member with both from the beginning and have see the progression from adults owning a somewhat expensive car to immature kids being able to buy one for $7000.

Don't let it bother you:tup: Enjoy this forum and the car. Believe it or not, people 16-18 can drive a RWD car with 300+hp and not get themselves into trouble. Just have self discipline and don't try to show off in front of people if/when they peer pressure you to do something stupid. Also, show respect and you'll get it back when you're on the forum.

Now I just hope this forum doesn't go down the path of my350 and g35driver in 4-6 years:rolleyes:

Sure, you're right, but I replied like that because, at first I was nice, there was a fair share of people giving good advice, then there were people just telling me to buy a Honda, calling me "another idiot asking a question" etc etc.

SOUTHZZ 04-04-2016 03:51 AM

As I mentioned in my earlier pot, forums evolve.
I include,THIS forum in my comment.
To elaborate, that 350Z forum over a period of several years, went
from an elitist group of guys that thought they knew everything ,to
the Civic owners moving on up to the big time with a Z. Topics
like full body kits were the norm. Not mentioned now.An increase in
female members and others that I swear would have trouble opening the hood.
On this forum, not long ago,any body mods or redo's of the interior were rare.
Same goes for engine mods other than intakes. Now,maybe because there are
an abundant amount of used Z34's,cars off lease or warranty, mods begin.
You can add the price of a used 370Z is within the reach of a bunch of buyers.

Some forums just die a slow death(check the Z "tech" forum, you will get my drift).

They evolve. To stay alive they must change with the owners/cars to survive.
Don't you just hate the incessant ads from the LED conversion company and
Carid?

BoneZ 04-04-2016 04:36 AM

My two cents... take the high road and stop responding to that forum. Obviously, some folks their see they get under your skin and only egg you on because of this. Who cares what some "key-banger" thinks. You be you and do your thing.

To quote Gump, "that's all I got to say 'bout that." Welcome to the forums. I recently became an active member in 2015, but I've been lurking around since 2008. You aren't going to find a finer group of folks (or sexy sexy Z people as I often call them) than the folks here. Enjoy that Z...and don't wreck it, kid! (sorry, had to :stirthepot: )

Dreadnaught 04-06-2016 12:57 AM

Driver wasn't as bad as my350. But, the guys on my350 are complete d1cks.
