So it's the metal to the inside of the pinch rails where the stands should be placed. Got it. I'll source a low profile jack so i can jack from the front nipple area.

I always called them rails on my other cars also. They're long singular pieces, so basically rails.

Or get hockey pucks on ebay with slits in them. jack car up with hockey puck slits resting over the rails. Like an upside down monorail!

like on my STI, i would need to get a REALLY deep one or it wont clear the rail. in such case, using a piece of wood is easier. |

i can tell u dat ive used a piece of wood (oak) as adapter for over 25yrs? longer? with no issue.
so im pretty sure it works. but the pucks are nice. they come in all sorts of colors too. my jackstand has a narrow flat top with rubber shoes which fit perfectly on the hump behind the pinch rails.. so ive never had the issue of worrying about the car slipping off the jackstands. but for oil change and most work under the car, just use ramps where u can. much safer, faster. |
