Yeah, it's not really worth making the video larger than it needs to be when the screen can't display the information. But if it does have a higher resolution, I like to go ahead and take advantage of that quality even on smaller screens. File size is rarely an issue these days it seems.

thanks, yah, i think ill just convert to HD (1280x720) and see how big the file size is. i only have a 32GB flash drive for the car.. and it's only a 10-12 song music vid (live performance) i want to put in there.

... I think Mr. Tyler feels obligated to pop back in every once in a while though he really shouldn't. I think my next trip to Dallas will be finished late morning, so I'm going to try and coordinate a lunch or something with him

hahaha! any question that you have let me know im going to try to help you! Remember that i own a 2005 Sti for 7 years and i do almost everything to that car and your 2015 Sti engine is the same with a just a few updates here and there but still the same hahaha!

From some cursory research it looks like the Subaru WRX STI Starlink 7" screen can display USB movies at 720P maximum. I think you're right on target with your plan. The screen can possibly display images at higher resolutions, but I did not find any confirmed native resolution.

thanks, part of the reason why i bought the STI was dat it has the 'old' (mature) engine so thinking it would be more reliable by now. plus i like the power to be in the upper RPM.
