But recently I've been really interested in the HTC Evo. It's beautiful! If only this phone had a Motorola logo.

Motorola slows down the droid phones with there motoblur stuff. I am looking forward to htx thunderbolt. And will stick with htc over Motorola.

So I got a droid 2 global a couple months back. I finally rooted it (mostly to get rid of the bloatware), but before I did any modifying, I saw that we can't download the new gingerbread update with a modified phone. Since gingerbread isn't available to me yet, I guess I have to wait. Am I understanding all of that correctly?

I'm coming back to Android hopefully tomorrow? I'm kinda lost as to whats the latest going ons with os versions. Sorry I couldn't help Frost :(

Latest rumor...July 28th.

Theory: delayed long enough so if you come in as a new customer, you have to get ont he new two-tiered payment scheme that kicks in July 8. The 28th keeps you from bringing back another phone in the 14 day no questions asked window and get the Bionic under the old plan :tinfoilhatSmilie:

My money is still on the Samsung Function. But, we'll see how the Bionic turns out.

That is how it always with Android it seems.
We finally get an update and the new one is released, but takes forever to get the next. I might be going back to an iPhone in Sept/Oct depending on how the new one is updated.

That's not the fault of android, right? From my understanding, the delays come from the providers, like motorola, tweaking the android OS to be what they want it to be. That right?

Correct, but it falls on the fault of Android is suppose to be 'open.' Yet by doing so it lets these companies play with it causing large delays and even ruining the operating system.

You use the browser that came with the phone, or did you switch over to chrome for android, or other?
