Your Right! all your asked to do is open a email account to sync your phone,
that doesn't mean you have to use the email account.

ive had my droid since monday...

ive never had an iphone, however i have looked at my friends and messed with it for a bit just to see how it was...

when i was checking out my buds iphone before i got my droid i thought the iphone was pretty neat, and could do all the things i wanted it too...

then i got my droid monday and have been pretty much blown away by what this phone is capable of doing...

it is truely an all in one device for me...

others here say that the flip out qwerty keyboard is not to their liking, i actually enjoy having the convenience of useing it and still having the virtual keyboard as well...

my overall impression is very positive and they are adding more apps everyday...

heres a few pics...

my droid was 149 bucks and the intensity was free, i got it for the ole lady

Go get Barcode Scanner, ShopSavvy, Google Sky Map, ScoreBoard (for sports), WiFi OnOff - that ought to get you started with some useful and fun things.

Couple more cool apps: Dolphin Browser (pinch zoom), Locale (geofencing - never have your ringer go off in a meeting again), Pandora, Nesoid Lite (Nintendo emulator, for some old school gaming fun) and tv.com (free tv). Love my Droid :)

Haven't met a single person yet who got one and doesn't like it.

How is it in terms of moblility? I was looking at it, and it seemed a tad on the big side. And what about general sound volume? My first gen iPhone is the quietist phone of all time, even speaker phone is hard to hear.

Its a little bit longer than the curve but its narrower and slimmer so it maintains similar portability. Volume is good. Great phone... I'm impressed. It does everything I need it to do and there's a ton of stuff in the android marketplace.

Thanks. Shop savvy is pretty cool. I scanned every barcode I could find in the apartment. LOL.

The volume on this phone is nothing short of fantastic - speaker phone, Ive actually had people ask me if I had my blue tooth headset on, when it was just sitting in my cupholder in my car (my BT sounds particularly good). Mobility is the same as an iPhone or any other smart phone, really. Their sizes are almost identical, although the Droid is slightly thicker (for that, you get a full keyboard). I think its just fine.

I'm letting you all know I'm still having fun with the Droid!
Have any of you all used the speedtest app? 2.2 mbps download and 1.2 upload here! that is extremely good!
