I pre-ordered my Incredible and got it on release day. It's a great phone and have really enjoyed it.

Droid Incredible Snaps, Saves Pictures Of Your Browsing History

Droid Incredible users have found a truly incredible glitch on the HTC smartphone.

As Boy Genius Report writes, the Droid Incredible will snap screenshots of your browser--via the phone's Sense UI bookmarking widget--then store the pictures in its internal memory. Erasing those files isn't so easy. Those screengrabs of your online banking session or favorite porn site (for example) stick on the phone around even after a total factory reset.

Engadget explains, "Ending the browsing session, deleting your history, and even a full reset to factory settings failed to eviscerate the indiscreet imagery. You have to manually discover their location and delete them by hand."

BGR offers instructions on where you can find the images in order to erase them: "The JPEG files are saved to a folder named .bookmark_thumb1 which is located within the emmc folder of the phones internal storage (so you would expect a full factory reset to delete them). "

I don't use the bookmark widget, but you can manually delete them when you connect the phone to the pc.

Browser privacy issue with DROID Incredible and HTC Sense UI widget? Boy Genius Report
That ridiculously easy to fix, so I don't even know why they make it such a big deal to delete them...

In fact, with the potentially large amount of pictures to delete, I'd probably PREFER to delete it that way, anyway.

I don't have a Droid, just posting as an FYI. For tech people I'm sure that's easy to fix, but a huge portion of the general public doesn't have the first clue about such things. If you read through the comments there you'll see how many people don't have any idea how to delete them.

Steps in order:

1.) Connect USB cable from computer to phone
2.) Drag notification bar down, click USB notification, and then click "Mount"
3.) Go into the phone as if it was any other removable storage
4.) Find said directory, go into it, delete pictures. Voila.

It'd take 5 minutes max. I have no sympathy for the tech-less wonders - they can go buy iPhones and be happy.

got to try out my friend's incredible over the weekend, it is VERY cool. feels very slick and not quite as clunky as my motodroid (no doubt from the faster processor). screen was very vibrant and the touch keyboard was very iphone-ish compared to mine, much more accurate, imo. i walked away very impressed. it's definitely the phone to get between the two for verizon. i don't feel the sudden urge to spend the coin to upgrade but this will probably be the last motorola phone i buy, looks like i'll get whatever the newest version of the incredible is when it's time for me to upgrade at the time

The Droid 2 will be out soon, which may eclipse the Incredible for all we know...especially w/ all the problems the HTC phones have had lately. Moto's been kicking out some nice hardware, lately!

Meh, I disagree - my biggest complaint about the Droid is the fact that its slow, compared to all the nice Snapdragon-powered Androids out there. The LAST thing I care about is 720p/HDMI output haha. Thats what my HDMI-equipped laptop is for...

My mom is intending on getting an Android later this year. I'll probably have her get a Droid 2, give her the cash for it, and give her my Droid 1 in exchange (she doesnt need "snappy" - she'll just want the WiFi tethering found in 2.2). The 1ghz proc will be a nice upgrade in itself.

I agree, I will probably stay with my incredible. I honestly do not care about OC a darn phone if that is all he was really saying would improve or the speed. A computer yes but come on a phone.

The Droid X's official announcement is this week. I think it's Wednesday, but you may want to check phonescoop or engadget to double-check.
