Well the HD2 is nice, but is still on WinMo which after playing with is still subpar to other phone OS choices.

theDreamer 04-01-2010 02:39 PM

Android 2.1

I didn't read through all the pages but I've been looking into a phone upgrade. I came accross 2 phones coming out soon that use Android 2.1. The HTC EVO4 (who makes the google phone) and the Samsung Galaxy S (which uses an LED screen like thier new TV's). Both look pretty sweet and possible Iphone competitors.

I'd get the Evo4 in a heartbeat if I had sprint, and I had WiMAX in my area (which I do).

The EVO4 is basically the HD2 but running Android 2.1 (the way I think it should be). The Samsung phone I have yet to see outside of conventions so no official specs yet.

does the iphone have a light for its camera function, something that phones have had on them since the turn of the millennium?

Ya I have AT&T currently. I'm pretty late in the game getting internet on my phone, don't have it at the moment but I'm finding lots of times where I wish I did. About 2 years ago I was going to bump up my plan and get an iPhone (me and my wife) until I was completely turned off by AT&T BS plans. For example if your work place does business with them a lot of times you can apply a code to your account to get a discount on your bill (15-20% or whatever). We have it. Once an I phones becomes the primary phone on an account all that kind of stuff goes out the window and you have to use all thier hiked plans for that phone. Now that I hear Verison is getting the iPhone I want to see what kind of comepetiton happens and see if they get new/good Driod based phones on AT&T. If they don't I may switch networks.

Also I read that HTC EVO4 is 4G capable and its supposed to be insane fast for internet use. I think they said Sprint is upgrading some major markets.

Your discount was removed due to AT&T's agreement with Apple and the iPhone. Had you chosen another smartphone you could have kept your discount.
