Bobo is right, the original Nexus one is meant for T-mobile but it is an "open" phone. If you want an Android phone on AT&T just wait a couple more months you will get your first batch. I believe the Nexus one is on the list, so the Dell Mini, and one more by HTC.

I think the most recent android phone that came out on AT&T is the Backflip. I'm not sure how it's fairing but I'm a DROID owner all the way. My first smartphone and probably one of the most fruitful reward from any of my researched purchases.

I've heard Nexus One getting a bad wrap from being under T-Mobile due to lack of coverage and service. It's debuting at the end of this month with Verizon so hopefully as Google's (Android) flagship phone, it will get a better review.

At least where I live in the panhandle of Florida, Verizon Wireless reigns supreme, hands-down.

If not mentioned already, I think phonearena.com is a great cell phone reference website.

The Backflip isnt on par with the DROID, particularly hardware wise.

The Nexus One is a solid machine hardware-wise - in fact I think it even beats the droid. Its downside is the lack of keyboard, odd trackball (instead of an optical pad), and a less-than-stunning exterior. Its not exactly one of those GOTTA HAVE IT devices, is all. The Droid, however, was exactly that for many.

Master_Ly - I felt the same. While not my FIRST smartphone (I had a Curve 8330), it was definitely one that I researched a lot before purchasing, and have been EXTREMELY happy with since I got it.

For what carrier? No better Android phones than the Moto Droid, or the Nexus One really...

I just ordered some Pro Clip mounts for my car... Going to pick up the motorola docking station too.

^The Droid docking station is my favorite cell phone accessory in a long time. I have one at work and one at home.

That's very common about what you said on the hard keyboard which is very surprising to me. Most people told me that prefer something "tangible." I do wish the Droid has the better processor like the Nexus One (Snapdragon) but I heard in the rumor mull that eventually the Droid will get overclocked to 800, probably during the over-the-air update to 2.1 Android. I really hope so!

Thanks for your thoughts on the Nexus One. I've heard many good things about the Curve and all of the praises that come with the BB trackballs. I almost jumped on the Storm2 but that entire screen clicking (SurePress, I think), that was just too funky. I'm glad that the Droid worked out for you especially coming from such a well established smartphone like the curve.

I have the OE Droid blue shell and I really wish it would fit the docking station (so I heard). So now I had to bootleg it and got the Dockrunner app instead.

Yeah, if the Droid had the Snapdragon I'd be in nirvana I think. Im not surprised that the 2.1 update may clock it to 800 (btw, its not quite overclocking - the proc is rated at 800 in normal form. Its actually UNDERCLOCKED in the phone, go figure). Everything points to a much snappier OS after 2.1 :)

And yes, the screen clicking thing in the Storm is SurePress. Although, I hear it got significantly better in the Storm2 over the Storm.

Yes, you're right; thanks. Droid was de-tuned from the factory. Now it needs to be unleashed. I've heard for those that did put 2.1 on the Droid, it works fantastic and so much better (plus Flash).
