What would you like to see, be remade?
They are doing a lot of things in the Movies these days. They are making some really good movies and some really bad ones..
Seems like of late they have been remaking some really good old movies, 1) Point Break 2) Independence Day 3) Planet of the Apes 4) Halloween 5) Poltergeist The list can go on and on... But the one movie I would love to see be remade is "Cannonball Run":driving: |
They need to stop remaking good movies. They never hold up. Instead, they need to remake old movies that weren't good, but had an interesting premise or concept that failed for some other reason.

How is it possible that Hollywood has run out of ideas
|
They haven't. The accountants have taken over. It's far less of a risk to crap out a reboot that we'll all grudgingly go see out of nostalgia than it is to come up with something new that may not make billions of dollars.

Remakes can suck my swollen left testicle :gtfo2:
*edit* Ok, I'll clarify. In general, most remakes suck. Every once in a while they get it right, as has been mentioned. Seems like few and far between though. |
No Joke, they really need to stop re-making the old movies. It is either going to be an updated version of what is was before, or it will be so far off concept that its going to be crap.
It's like taking a book that one person wrote a while ago and then turning it into a movie and not following the core plot or anything close to what the book/original story is/was. From what I understand though they are already remaking Poltergeist. If they remake Independence Day that will be like a big "F-U" to America if they screw it up. Its kind of like JJ Abrams being the first person to direct a star wars movie besides George Lucas; everyone thinks JJ will mess it up. If JJ messes it up though he will forever be known as "Jar Jar Abrahms". |
1) Point Break remake is out right now
2) Independence Day Part 2 is coming out 3) Planet of the Apes Been remade a few times already... 4) Halloween Too many parts done, needs to die. 5) Poltergeist Someone mentioned possible remake in the works already... I don't mind remakes as long as there done well... IMO Footloose was not bad, Gone is 60 Seconds was not too bad... I'd almost like to see a remake of Two Lane Black Top and Vanishing Point (with the white Challenger) |

I thought the 2010 remake of "True Grit" (Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Hailee Steinfeld, Josh Brolin, et al) was pretty good. Wasn't impressed by the 2005 remake of "War of the Worlds." Not sure one would consider the 2009 and 2011 Sherlock Holmes movies remakes but I enjoyed them. That's all I can think of now.

It still upsets me greatly that they're doing a Scarface remake

Wasn't the Pacino Scarface already a remake of a '30s movie?

I want a remake of she always swallows part 3.

I can think of TONS of remakes. Just sticking to car flicks, "The Italian Job" remake was pretty sad. The original was awesome.
A remake that needs to be made? Nissan's 2003 "The Run", itself a remake of an Italian independent short film. Seeing the 350Z blitz through Prague was the biggest reason I love Zs so much and had to get one. (My family lived in Prague, we moved to Canada when I was 3.) Any thoughts about best city for it? San Francisco was ruined by Ken Block (not saying it was was a bad job, but comparisons would be inevitable). I vote Las Vegas. |

I'm looking forward to a remake of "How to handle hazardous materials". I've seen the same video at work 2-3 times a year for the last 13 years.
