Night Shift

About a year ago around this time i worked for a company near me. I worked 6 days 8 hour shifts from 12 at night to 8 in the morning. For some reason I MISS IT. I actually miss working the midnight shift. I have no idea why but I just do. Anyone else work or use to work midnight shift?

I worked 10 years of nite shift, when I worked paramedic ambulance, 6pm to 6am, loved it! Nite shift was unique!

DANG 12 hour shifts are not that bad but still. I remember once in a while they would ask if anyone would want to work a double. Once in a while I would say yes. lool

It's more fun
It has more activity
That's when all the 'Secret Squirrel' stuff happens
The sun is GONE:tup::tup::tup::tup::happydance:

Well as a P/T I drive from 4:30pm to 2:30am...I like it as there are not alot of people driving since I'm now starting to pull trailers. Got to see a white GT-R go fast last night :D

I had a few projects that required night work. When I started my company back in college we got a gig with an airport to create and install the digital sign system for their underground transit system to basically give updates on the trains progress. The project was only supposed to last 3 months but ended up lasting something in the time frame of 6! Now I was all for this project but man did it become hell! I had 18 semester hours of school I went to the office after school to work on sales and other projects. At that point I got off work around 7-8 pm grabbed a quick dinner and did HW for about an hour before heading down to the airport. From 10pm - 6am I worked in one of the dirtiest train tunnels I had ever seen. I would walk in white and walk out black! the Carbon dust was CRAZY! After we got done at the airport I had enough time to drive home @ about 90+mph take a shower grab my sh!t and head back downtown for school! I didnt sleep during the week for 6 MONTHS!!!! the weekends were the only time I had to sleep and I didnt get much then cause all my friends wanted to hang out... needless to say I became a walking zombie! This girl was really trying soo hard to get my attention and kept asking me to eat lunch with her and stuff and I was like I have to go to work or not today kind of responses lol I have never seen a chick work so hard for a guy in my life lol she was cute too and we ended up dating for like a year and a half. Man those were some good times but I would never do it again thats for DAM sure!

I'm glad I'm not the only one working a night shift, I actually love it. Just even when I'm off I can't seem to sleep at night anymore. Its needs to be daylight for me to actually be able to fall asleep.

My work shift gets me the best of all worlds...and the worst.

I rotate shifts every month.

Shift 1:
M-F 7am-3pm

Shift 2:
T-F 3pm-11pm
Sat 11am-11pm

Shift 3:
Sat 11pm- Sun 11am
Sun-Wed 11pm - 7am

It sucks switching every month, but I get the good and the bad that comes with every shift, which keeps me happy.

We don't do much on our Shift 3 but watch movies (we have 14 52" plasmas on the screen and a blu ray player!) and play dominoes, so it's pretty awesome for that month.

15:30-24:00. Still sleep like a normal person and get tons of stuff done during the day. Cleaned the Z and fertilized the lawn today. Plus daytime sex w/no rugrats around. WooHoo.

MightyBobo 11-07-2009 06:35 AM

I work Wed-Sat, 6AM-4PM "officially". In reality...Wednesdays/Thursdays I get off to go work out at 2:30, Fridays I have PT at 7AM so I get to sleep in an extra hour, and its 9PM by the time I get to work, and Saturdays I only have to work 6AM-2PM.
