So about Lasik
I've been seriously debating this for years, as someone who has worn glasses since I was 8. Im sick of constant readjusting, not being able to wear a nice pair of sunglasses the list goes on.
So I have a very good Dr in my area that would be doing it. Ive already got 2k set aside for it. Im just looking for anyone who has had it done, what can I expect, please fill me in. |

Do it!! I went from 20/200 in my left eye to 20/30 and 20/20 combined.. I recommend to anyone that doesn't have near perfect vision

Best money you will ever spend
The few weeks after are a little adjusting to get used to but after its great You will notice immediate results , my wife was also on the defense for a few years until she finally broke down, she loves it now and has no regrets

The worst thing I hear is people getting dry eye. But... Really bad dry eye. People have committed suicide from the dry eye they have after the surgery.

i was thinking about doing lasik 3-4yrs ago. my bro did it long time ago while he was young as he is an athletic type. after 2.5 decades of no issue he said his vision isnt all that great any more due to aging. he said if contacts dont bother me just keep the contacts. he still doesnt regret doing it since he's still out there doing local triathlons and stuff.
im kinda more like the couch potato type...? |

Total will be 5k, I just have a chunk started towards it. My biggest fears so far, have been wondering if it will work, worrying that an oh shnikes moment will happen and i go blind. Or simply it not lasting long enough to really enjoy it.

He is the only one that will do the operation Excel Laser Vision Institute - 13 Photos - Optometrists - 10 Pointe Dr - Brea, CA - Reviews - Yelp

I went to one of the best doctors in the DC area this summer to have my Lasik procedure done.
There was a machine malfunction. The machine used to create the flap in my eye didn't make it deep enough and it couldn't be lifted safely. So, I had millions of tiny bubbles in my right eye and a partial flap. The procedure was aborted and I was sent home to recover (it was a normal recovery, as if I actually had the procedure done.) Thankfully it was on the first eye, so I only had to endure the discomfort and pain in one eye. If I wanted to try again I'd need to do PRK instead of Lasik. I noped the **** out of there. Vision is precious... I went back to contacts. Good luck!

I've been using contacts for 7 years and have no reason to go to lasik. Question: Why Lasik over contacts?
