I looked at that one... Dual 27" 2560x1440 > single 3440 x 1440 :icon17:

Don't have enough room on my desk for 2 of the 34" :icon17:

I am looking at some new monitors. Currently running 2x 23" crappy Dell monitors. Looking to upgrade in at least quality if not also size. I would consider one of the super wide ones if the screen wasn't so damn short. I used to run a couple of Samsungs that were 5:4 aspect ratio. Those were the $hit!

But these 30+" wide screens are like 8" tall :shakes head:

And I can't get two of them to stack due to the price. Not spending $1500+ on two of those monitors.

I'm patiently waiting for a curved 60" 21:9 aspect ratio with 8k+ resolution before I drop any money on a new monitor :p

The current crop's nice but waiting for the next big jump

My laptop will only drive 1 5K display, and it's not actually supported. :ugh:

Agree on the wide-but-short monitors, Jar, I looked at them at Fry's over the weekend and was not that impressed. The 34" is only about 1/2" taller than my current monitors.

That's why I bought the 2560x1440's... Right now I'm using a couple of 22" 1920x1080 monitors that are about 5 years old, so I'll use these until the "one wide *** screen with shitloads of pixels" monitors are affordable... And I have a laptop that will drive one effectively.

I am sure I can buy a $48 video card that will drive 2 5K over mini displayport but I don't think it will fit in my laptop... :ugh: :icon17:

3 shrimp tacos and rice for lunch mmm

Leingod 11-11-2015 11:47 AM

I've never even seen a Fry's. I'm still getting over the excitement of dirt cheap wine at the Costco that just got built an hr and a half away.

I made a pbj sammich and some greek yogurt. Problem is i don't want anything sweet. I may just break down and get a bag of bbq or horseradish chips from the break room.

i think they're more west coast based while they have expanded to the midwest. i remember going to the one in LA pretty often.
