I guess they hold their value. You may be better selling yours and buying a new one. An "upgrade" could cost $250 but it's basically a brand new device.

I don't even think it's the guts. The units internals change a lot while the outside casing remains the same so they usually just ship out brand new ones.

Or at least that's what i believe happens according to my Vette brothers on another forum.
