partially to help the employee to settle down and relax the other was business practice to ensure that no hidden files are being swept under the rug and brought to light. sorta.

the rule only applies to full-time staff though... contracts and their contract prorated holidays are exempt.

dats pretty wierd. almost sounds like ur HR department dont know how to be responsible parents to small kids..or have ever raised kids to begin with. i would never abide to such BS. u really need to be a parent to understand wat scheduling is all about.

definitely. i mean i dont have the same commitments as my colleagues with kids but you hit the nail.

they have appointments here and there. they may have emergencies and such. i am on the fence as to mandatory minimum vacation but at the same time it's difficult being a parent.

plus it's not like we get padded amounts of vacation days where it wouldn't be a problem. oh well i'm not paid to make policies... i probably would only appease the 1%

yep, and add single parents to the mix and that would make it nearly impossible to deal with. :icon08:

at least in my case my wife and i can take turns watching after the kids on those odd-ball school holidays.

I just want a dirt cheap banged up DD that I can fix with zip ties and gaffers tape. Salt eats everything here during the winter so getting something nice seems wasteful to me. Colorado would be nice, but I honestly don't want to spend more than 6-7k. Sure, I could get a loaded F-250 brand new, but no purpose. I'll have the Z for the summer and a junker that doesn't attract any attention for winter. Not like a new truck looks any better than an old one when you can't wash it at -20 outside.

i hear ya. i dont wash my dd either in the winter. just let it sit all frozen.. it's actually better for the car vs constant cycling of melted snow/salt as i found out.

kenchan 11-02-2015 04:33 PM

so tonight i need to clean up my dd a little bit from the mud i tracked into the car last week.. :ugh: luckily i have all-weather 3D mats so i will just wash it with a hose worst case.

then it's RC motoring time, and may be watch tv to finish off the day. :D

After 35 years of marriage, a husband and wife came for counseling. When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the years they had been married.

On and on and on: neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and unlovable, an entire laundry list of unmet needs she had endured.

Finally, after allowing this for a sufficient length of time, the therapist got up, walked around the desk and after asking the wife to stand, he embraced and kissed her long and passionately as her husband watched - with a raised eyebrow.

The woman shut up and quietly sat down in a daze.

The therapist turned to the husband and said, "This is what your wife needs at least 3 times a week. Can you do this?"

"Well, I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, …But I golf on Fridays...”
