About 10 years ago, I went to FL for vacay. Ended up getting hit by a CAT3 hurricane. It. was. AWESOME!!!! CAT1 sounds like a rainstorm :rofl2:

Dude Im a cali city boy this hurricane and snow is foreign to me.

We have a storm kit but we just need water and propane for the grill. If I didn't have to move to san diego next year then I would spend the $2k for a generator and transfer switch but when I come back out here in a few years that is going to be a top priority. Im just hoping it doesn't strengthen when it hits the gulf stream. The water temp up here on the surface is still in the high 60's which is high for this time of year.

CAT 3 and lower, you'll be safe in any reasonably modern built house. We don't even own a generator.

I love keeping myself steadily busy. Makes time go by quick, but without any stress or feeling dead to the world.

Reps out for the day

Safe travels for EW. Let us know how it went. Looks like weather will generally cooperate.

Last hurricane that came through our territory I skipped out on. Left the wife to fend for herself. Hurricane Isabel came at the same time as the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Mid-Ohio. We had been planning it for months. She says go, I'll be fine ... who am I to dispute that logic. It wasn't bad, power was out for a while but not as much rain as they had anticipated in our area.

I did feel bad though :ugh: ... really.

And I got some great shots at Mid-Ohio.

The only thing keeping me going right now is 4 hours of sleep and Sudafed.

Free flu shots here at work next week. Debating on to get one or not. Flu shots are my only wary shots. 50/50 chance it seems for me to get sick after being penetrated with a needle.
