Any thoughts on why it would just randomly start flashing at 70K miles? Never had any issues before. No interior mods that should affect it.

mine will come on if someone is sitting weird in the car, like if their leaning on the side airbag. the light will come on. it may just be that.

I did have a backpack on the seat. The same backpack with the same contents that sits in the same position on that seat nearly every work day for the past four years. Not sure why it would all of sudden cause a flashing air bag light on the instrument panel

Note this is a flashing red airbag light in my speedometer. Not the passenger airbag light next to the stereo.

yeah it can come on if the bag shifted in some way and was leaning on a sensor.
