Yea. I keep forgetting to ask. I've never stored a car for the winter. Any prep need to be done? Figured i'd just add a full tank of gas and cover it in storage. Do a full detailing and call it a season.

I have read a lot of advice about this but with a modern car you don't really need to do much of anything.

I change the oil shortly before putting the car away, when I'm sure that I won't be getting the car out again I put a trickle charger on it, and when I get the car out in the spring I change the oil again and make sure the tires are up to 34 psi cold. That's about it.

Step one: Do that stuff
Step two: Don't worry about it

Last year I detailed it with paint glaze and wax. Filled up the tank and parked her in my garage. Then buried her behind my grill, snow blower and other superfolis B/S I acquired during the winter. I think I drove it twice when there was no salt and crap on the roads. But this year might be different since I might be moving to sunny san diego.

I've got to go clothes shopping... My wardrobe is lacking winter essentials.... like long sleeves and heavier cardigans. blarg....

I don't even wash mine, because I know when I get it out in the spring, it will be after the 2nd good hard rain (to get rid of the salt) and it will probably get rained on immediately while I am driving it. :icon17:

Dirty car gets dirtier: No problem.
