1. If your floor jack was remotely close to reaching the front jack point, trying driving up on a short piece of 2x6. This allows me to reach my front jack point just barely scraping the front spoiler. The first few pumps of the handle are very short but it'll get there eventually. I imagine one of those rapid pump jacks would make quicker work of it. 2. There is a flap at the back of the undershroud. Remove the rearmost four screws in the undershroud, and flip it under towards the front of the car. My flap is trained and just hangs vertically now. Use a bungee cord or other means of holding the flap back to keep it out of the way of draining oil; this will also help train it to stay out of your way for future oil changes. Quote:
IMO the flap on the OEM undershroud is only slightly more cumbersome due to having to restrain it from getting in the way of the draining oil flow, there are only 4 screws, and there is much more room for unscrewing those oil filters that the idiot dealer mechanic decided needed to be torqued to 180 ft-lbs

Meh. Expensive for basic stuff like oil changes. Took me a whole hr doing the oil change on a car I've never done before or even jacked. I can't complain. It was easier then the civics. That's for sure.

This was on a fellow local Z owner's car. And to be fair, my hands fit fine. It was just extremely difficult to get any leverage through the opening on the oil filter that was superman torqued by the idiot dealer. I actually have an oil filter socket that fits right on the end of the filter and would have taken it off with almost no effort (it has been amazing for several impossibly tight oil filters I have changed). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use it with the ZSpeed shroud installed because the opening does not extend past the end of the filter meaning there is not enough room. After that experience, I was worried that the bigger filter I like to use and a thermostatic sandwich plate might be even more troublesome. Although I'll admit that the oil filter problem should only be a problem once - you don't need to torque it down much.
