What's a good wax to try? I've always used the meguiars soft wax. It works well, but doesn't last longer than a week or 2. I need to fully detail and clean before this weekend.

Try HD Nitro Seal. It has a life of 6-8 months.

It says it's good for 12 months. I say you can expect a solid 8-10 months if your car is parked outside 24/7.

A very underrated long lasting and cheap wax is Collinite 845. I put two coats of that on Mr.sForce's car, We easily got 12 months protection out of it. Mind you she parks in a garage when at home.

Meguiar's Ultimate Paste (or liquid) is pretty good. I am about to try Collinite Insulator Wax.
