Ima west coasty ... Washington State originally. Moved to the Washington DC metro area and kept trying to wear jeans. Nobody takes you seriously. I did a test. Went to a grocery store wearing jeans and a nice tshirt and tried to get some service from a manager type. Had to stand around for 15-20 minutes before somebody came around to help. The following day in my Men's Warehouse garb (yer gonna like the way you look) went back and people were falling all over themselves to help out. It was night and day and yes sir no sir. I was stunned. I tell this story to all my west coasty friends and they can't believe it. Is this a valid test? Maybe, maybe not. More often than not though, when I am in a suit, people are much nicer to me.

I just want something comfortable. A suit is wicked nice, and I love mine. But after years of wearing fitted everything while working in a law firm, all I want is comfortable maneuverability. Also comes in handy when crawling through tight spaces for cabling. The suave guy in a suit will always get better service. Professionalism over comfort. Besides, suits suck when it's 100% humidity. :rofl2:

It was not a fun trip.

I will take out my frustrations on the Maxima.

Crazy. But not surprising. The US is full of different cultures.

This is why I love Austin. I can go to a very classy (and stupid expensive) French restaurant here in town wearing shorts and sandals and receive the same service and respect that the suit attired businessmen are getting at the next table. I tip better than them, too ;)
