so fellas, with a couple 80 degree days coming up this weekend, I started looking up inder the dash to see just how hard its gonna be to install this RJM pedal....

eastwest2300 08-07-2015 08:28 AM

I'll attempt to get it done tomorrow, bright and early... I'll probably pull the drivers seat out tonight, after work..

eastwest2300 08-07-2015 08:30 AM

Im hoping this install isnt a complete nightmare, fingers crossed.

eastwest2300 08-07-2015 08:30 AM

Anyone have any pointers?

:icon08:

If you can pull the seat like EW, it will be 10000X easier. I am fat and old and I was able to install it with the seat in but I was hurting for a day or two after :icon17: The hardest part of the install is trying to hold it up and reach for tools while laying on back. Maybe zip tie magnetic parts holder under dash and stick tools to it.

If it's anything like the clutch helper spring, FAK DAT!!!! I'm still miserable after having to sand down that puller bolt to make it fit back into the 3 holed housing.

5 minute install Leingiod. It's eeeaaassssyyyyyyyyy....

1 and a half hrs later!!!!! *Dremel starts up with maniacal laguter in the background

If you would have been wearing your special ed helmet while doing it, it would have gone ok :icon17:

It is a very easy install once you actually start looking at the pieces and putting it together.

madwi 08-07-2015 09:10 AM

Dang, I need to wait until 1 when my buddy Russ gets out of work at BB. he brought wrong antenna adapter over the other day. But he did pick up 3 sets of RCA cables on the cheap and 30 ft of 16 wire for $5 lol Cant complain too much.

Oh. i knew how it all aligned. I knew how it was all pieced together. Had multiple DIY guides open with all pictures. That bolt expanded for whatever reason when I pulled it out. Nor should I have had to mar it so badly when pulling it out.

I will say that the clutch is easy now. Although the RJI assembly is still coming so I don't have to worry about CSC problems or whatever the RJi also helps fix. Stupid Z issues...

That was your issue in getting it back in.

How else to pull it out with such minimal room and it not budging at all unless under a death grip?

madwi 08-07-2015 09:20 AM

I used a small punch and tapped it out lol If I remember right, I slightly dpressed the pedal with one hand and then tapped the end of the pin with a punch and it practically fell out.

madwi 08-07-2015 09:27 AM

So do I rip out the 4 guage wire I have ran to the back and install bigger wire for 2 amps and nitrous system or forget about 8" subs and amp for them and just stick with amp for door speakers and tweeters? Decisions.

I am kinda leaning that way but man, thats a lot of work getting big gauge wire through the grommet in the firewall. Maybe if I could solder the wires together then pull the 4 gauge back out through the grommet while pulling the large wire with it. that might work...
