OS/Vintage BMX
How many of you are into old school/vintage bmx? I consider '89 and prior OS. I own a restored '84 Skyway T/A with era-correct parts, an '84 GT Pro with era-correct parts, sold my early 90's PK Ripper and built a 2007 SE Racing Quadangle with OS-styled parts.

I always wanted a Skyway T/A but never could find one (I spent a good portion of my BMX-riding days in Saudi Arabia). I did have:
1978 Ross (my first bike, it stayed in the US) Some sort of crazy 3-speed, I wrecked it pretty badly and almost lost my two front teeth A no-name bike that I traded my extra copy of Atari 2600 Asteriods for (one of my better deals) 1980 AMF (it was red) 1984 Pro Edge (it was what my parents could find, I disliked it because I felt it was inferior to all the other bikes and was heavy, not made of 4130 Chromoly) 1986 Mt Racing UFO 1987 Dyno Pro Comp (I loved this bike and had it until I was able to drive, I then traded it for a set of 12" Pioneer subs in an enclosure, which was one of my poorer trades - especially since the bike is probably a collectable now) I had friends that rode a Kuwhara Laserlight (I loved that bike, it was so smooth, light, and easy to ride), a Mongoose, GT's, a Redline, and Schwinns. I never did get that Skyway. |

Oh yeah this brings back memories..Dura-ace cranks, reedy pedals, bulls eye hubs, bob haro num plates, Oakley grips and goggles and Vans (I still buy their shoes)..
Years I raced...1976-1983 Sponsored by a local bike shop and semi sponsored by JT racing. Bikes owned..Powerlite, Thruster "Tim Judge" frame and a Robinson Racing. Their still packed up in storage. One of these days I should go back to my parents house and search for old pics of me, my sister's and brother's bmx days.

Yeah, "Tim Judge" huh? I thought he raced for Hutch. Never ever throw away your old school BMX stuff, especially if it's in useable condition. I like Powerlite bars, the "power-bends."
