I actually like to go down to a 30 profile ratio when I go up in sizes on the rear. With 285/30/19, the tire diameter remains virtually the same as stock 275/35/19

275 35 19 96.25mm sidewall 675.1mm diameter
285 30 19 85.50mm sidewall 653.6mm diameter

that's about 2cm smaller total diameter.

Good catch. I actually meant 305s (what I'm running right now). Diameter difference is <1cm and speedometer differential is less than 1mph at 65mph
