Rumors are already floating, Netflix is heard maybe trying to court them to their network, along with that I am sure Amazon is throwing money into the pot to try to get them.
This might be just the break we need, Top Gear 2.0, more money, less BBC, and better access for the world to view!

You got a point. I was thinking earlier "this does present a power vacuum, SOMETHING needs to develop from this". Aces high to a reboot of an already awesome show!! |

Keep the show in the UK and all the quality they already have, but open up the door to money, less red tape, and more. Could just be what the show needed and BBC will miss out, though they have been racking in cash for so many years.

The other 2 have said they will not do the show without Clarkson, and I even think they updated their twitter accounts saying ex-host.

Its really refreshing and touching honestly that Hammond and May stood behind him by saying if one went they all went. Most people on TV are such tools and would jump at anything. Very cool of them.

Christ. I hate to say I can see the BBC's position on this... but on the other hand, if Clarkson assaulted someone, its a criminal/civil matter, right? The wounded party can surely press charges/sue/whatever, and the BBC can stand behind that without firing Jeremy.
To the best of my knowledge, I've never heard of him busting anyone's lip before -- he's not exactly presenting a constant danger to either the staff or the image of the BBC. I don't really see how the BBC have to kill the show to prove a point. They have laws in the UK; unless one of them demands a presenter be canned for this behavior, while I see their point, its kind of a huge over-reaction...

Anyways, guys he didn't say they will leave. James May replied to the question "Will you stay at Top Gear" with: "I don't want to talk about that too much. But I think we're very much the three of us a package, it works for very complicated reasons, that a lot of people don't fully understand" And in response to who would he like to work with he said "Much as I think he's a knob, I quite like working with Jeremy" So, the news in INFERRING that they are sticking together. Personally, I don't think the show will attract the same viewers without Jeremy, but do I think if no one picks up the show, that James and Richard will stay on? If course I do. No job is like Top Gear, and they get PAID millions to do it. That being said, MAYBE this is bull, maybe they just won't renew their contracts until 6 months from now. I will pray for that.

Actually, it may very well be in everyone's contract at the BBC that physically assaulting/extensively verbally abusing any member of the staff, especially subordinates, = sacked, which is not an unreasonable policy. James May did say "their hands are tied" about the BBC, so it may very well be that this isn't really an over-reaction, while NOT firing him would be a major disregard of standard policy and procedure.
