I am paying this >>> Gasoline Prices In Chicago Are Highest In Nation - Yahoo! News
I guess us IL residences can thank the never ending increase in taxes... The closest shell gas station charges 4.68/gal for 93 oct. I don't know about the other states/cities but here in Chicago, the cost of real estate has dropped but our real estate taxes are still going up. It's up 150-200% since the last appraisal and the last appraisal before that was increased by 300%... Last edited by Cell; 04-25-2011 at 12:01 PM. |

As for sales tax/income tax, that is a whole different story. Gas tax has always gone up in Chicago. If I drive out side of Chicago, I can buy gas 20-30 cents cheaper. Unfortunately I am not willing to drive 6 miles out to buy gas and drive back 6 miles again. With all the increased taxes that we have here, I am surprised that we are even still in debt. |
