How not to ship something.

Needed a replacement motherboard. Found one cheap on Fleabay. This is how they shipped it. I didn't file a dispute it was a asis sale plus I can just send it to MSI they'll replace it under warranty.

How you even tried it to see if it works? Looks good to me but the shipping was bad.

Problem is with it arriving like that you run a huge risk of it causing a problem with any other component and ruining them also. If MSI is up for a replacement I would go with it, but if they are going to be a pain in the butt then you might try it first with some temp hardware if you have any around.

"USPS Parcel Post Mail"

:icon18: Well, you went with the cheapest, slowest service available from anyone.

You get what you pay for. An extra $5 would have given you a pristine box in about 1/4 the time. Delivered by someone who was not at risk of "going Postal".

True, just my experiences but I only buy off an online store like new egg. Also asus motherboards are really nice the msi's I am not sure about.

:icon18: newegg.com is by far the best online outfit there is. Good pricing, phenomenal customer service. They even have an option for like $2 called "express ordering" or something, where they speed up the order and usually it is in the shipper's hands the same day. I'm a computer consultant and use them exclusively.

Asus is one of the best MB's out there, btw.

I guess a real shipping box made of corrugated cardboard would have helped the whole procedure. NEVER ship a box in just it's retail packaging, wtf!

Actually its not the parcel post service that was the problem. I wasn't in a rush to get it, and I've received plenty of packages shipped parcel post.

The problem is the piss poor packaging job. He used the original box which isn't designed for shipping. He didn't use an anti static bag, and then he proceeded to wrap sensitive electronics in static producing bubble wrap. Poorly I might ad

The whole ordeal has me out 35.00 so in the scheme of things its not a huge amount of money. I did test the board and it has bad memory slots won't read any ram installed.

Pretty bad.

kdo2milger 10-11-2009 12:31 PM

WoW!

i would not try it!

main reason, is because it was shipped in bubble wrap! very conducive to static electricity!

it should have been in an anti-static motherboard bag like this:

also not to mention unseen resistor damage :icon14:

like 370Zsteve said...newegg rocks (shameless spam) for two reasons: best prices and fastest most reliable shipping!
