Pulled Over....
As the title says, I was pulled over in Virgina early this morning after dropping my father off at the airport. Speed limit was 65, I was doing 71, as there was literally straight, open roads, and not a single car on the road. I then was passing a truck, and gave her a little gas, and next thing I know, the blue lights of justice are in my rear! The cop says I was doing 79 mph. I drive fire trucks for a living, and know how hard it is for larger trucks to see cars (exp. small cars like the Z) in their blindspots. I politely explained to the officer why such an increase in speed. After a while, he comes back, and says that he is going to let me go! THANK GOD! Anyways, I have always tried to avoid VA like the plauge, cause it just seems like thats all the cops do out there.... Anyone else noticed this??
Happy Driving!!:tiphat: |
Had one pull me over in a 35 in my 350Z. He said I was doing 50. Total bullsh*t and I lost in court as well. Cop lied and I paid. Judge gave me no points though. Nice of her :{
Good he let you go anyway. |
Only similar situation I've been in is being stopped for speeding and the officer noticed at the time that my inspection sticker on the windshield was expired (yes, I know....not smart on my part) so then he also checked my plates...thank GOD that was up to date. He left for a few minutes and came back and said:
Tell ya what I'll do....I'll cite you for the expired inspection and forego the speeding. How's that? WHEW! I could only open my eyes wide :eek: and say: Thank you! |

If I was police and pulled someone over and they admitted what they did. 99% chance they would drive away with no ticket. honesty and being willing to take responsiblity for ones own action would be very important to me. Thats if I was police of course. I also dont see the logic in turning a minor civil traffic ticket into criminal felony flight for running. hmm 136 dollar fine or felony conviction. tough choice.

being a police officer, this is completely true with 99% of cops. lie, your getting the book. be a ****, your getting a ticket. be polite, fess up, and your good to go. at least in LA, alot of traffic stops are not for tickets, yet to check out who is driving the car.....(drugs, guns, ect) I personally hate writing tickets and with LAPD, there is no quota, or pressure. you do it if you want to. that being said, i dont like writing them unless someone really deserves one.... |
My record is clean in nearly 12 years of driving. I was in my mom's Accord driving to work earlier this year. I accidentally went 8 over in a 35mph zone when I saw the cop car. I quickly pulled to the side right as he pulled out and flashed his lights. I admitted fault. He gave me a ticket anyways saying his supervisor wants him to be harder on speeders or something.
