being a police officer, this is completely true with 99% of cops. lie, your getting the book. be a ****, your getting a ticket. be polite, fess up, and your good to go. at least in LA, alot of traffic stops are not for tickets, yet to check out who is driving the car.....(drugs, guns, ect)

I personally hate writing tickets and with LAPD, there is no quota, or pressure. you do it if you want to. that being said, i dont like writing them unless someone really deserves one....

You don't issue a ticket, to cell phone users who are driving?

X2 one day last year I had a civic si behind me. Now I was on my way to the movies and was sort of in a hurry. So I pass the 2 cars in front of me...so does the si. To make a long story short before you knwo it we are weaving threw traffic and passing cars he than passes like 5 cars and I say screw that I am done. Now he was from Delaware and I was in NJ. When we passed cars so did another car behind us. Next thing I know I am getting pulled over so is he farther up the road. Guy asks me what was the deal with all that crazy passing. I told him I was in a rush and I guess the guy decided I was trying to play with him. After I explained it all he came back and LET ME GO! He said I like an honest person and you did not lie to me once during this stop you are free to go. I was like OKAY

I'm glad you spoke of your good experience with an Officer as all most people ever talk about are the fewer bad experiences. There are jack asses in all lines of work but this doesn't make everyone in those fields bad people. Thanks for your story bigaudiofanat!

My record is clean in nearly 12 years of driving. I was in my mom's Accord driving to work earlier this year. I accidentally went 8 over in a 35mph zone when I saw the cop car. I quickly pulled to the side right as he pulled out and flashed his lights. I admitted fault. He gave me a ticket anyways saying his supervisor wants him to be harder on speeders or something.

I then was passing a truck, and gave her a little gas, and next thing I know, the blue lights of justice are in my rear! The cop says I was doing 79 mph. I drive fire trucks for a living, and know how hard it is for larger trucks to see cars (exp. small cars like the Z) in their blindspots. I politely explained to the officer why such an increase in speed. After a while, he comes back, and says that he is going to let me go! THANK GOD! Anyways, I have always tried to avoid VA like the plauge, cause it just seems like thats all the cops do out there.... Anyone else noticed this??
Happy Driving!!
I'm confused...you stated the speed limit was 65 and you admitted that you were doing 71. What exactly is your problem with the Officer? I must have missed something.....

Ummm....reread his post. He didn't get a ticket. He stated he was going 71mph and THEN passed a big truck which I think we all can safely assume he sped up from 71mph to make the pass....

I was driving a little honda crx to walmart to buy some snacks at night and got pulled over and the first thing he asked me was "are you affiliated with any gang" and I was just speechless. He then got my L's and registrations to come back and I asked him why did I get pulled over, He looks around the inside of car for a minute and said "I pulled you over because of the air freshener hanging on your rear view mirror". Had to take that off and I was let go. Then a week later same cop pulled my buddy and I over but this time my buddy got a ticket for not having a front licenses plate on his Mercedes.
There are those people who try's to make you life harder or those who try's to make your life easier.

Driving In Va sucks fuss everywhere. A Co worker got nabed doing 82 in a 55 on RTE 7
320 dollar fine, no points since he's from PA. They don't transfer points.
One of these days they'll get me using my radar.(9500I)
Lucky it picks them up in time to yank it out of the window.
