Painting the ugly base calipers is a bit weak IMO. Obviously you are trying to keep the cost down as adding an extra $10K to an already $40K car would

Painting the ugly base calipers is a bit weak IMO. Obviously you are trying to keep the cost down as adding an extra $10K to an already $40K car would be a tough sell, but for base calipers I would only paint them black or silver. You don't really want to highlight the fact that the car has base brakes. Installing a BBK would be very cool but would add too much to the cost.
