Looking for advice on a 370Z

Hi All, I just joined the forum. I've been driving an '05 G35 coupe 6MT for the last 6 years and am thinking about a 370Z to replace it. From my time with the G35, I loved almost everything about it but had 3 issues.
1. the way it eats the inside on the front tires (they get pretty noisy that way!)
2. the red paint is crappy- the front of the hood and fenders have road rash from highway driving
3. never liked the feel/release of the clutch

Given the closeness of the 2 cars, I'm looking to the experts here to let me know what they see as the best points for the 370Z and does it have the same issues as the G (and what are your 'wish they fixed that' items?

Thanks in advance!

all three issues are the same on the 370.

the tire issue could just be a crappy alignment you have. if your alignment is good then just get used to buying expensive tires often. my alignment is almost spot on and i get 15k miles out of my tires. (90% city driving)

all the colors have some sort of issue from nissan. whether the panels dont match or chips and peeling.

if you are hesitant about buying a manual then DONT! the CSC system is crap and unreliable.

it will be noisier than than your G as well. invest in sound deadening and a good stereo!

fun car if you can look past its issues though.

Thanks fuct- appreciate the experienced info. If I go with the Z- I'm seriously thinking about making it my first AT in almost 30 years because I love the cars but hate their clutch.

What I've read on the G is that the camber on these cars is set pretty negative and is not adjustable- thats why they eat the inside of the front tires. Is the 370 the same?
Personally- since I don't autocross- I'd rather sacrifice a little handling with a proper (neutral) camber and double my tire life rather than what they designed into it. I might even consider getting a camber kit to correct it.

Oh yeh fuct- on the increased noise of the 370 vs. the G- I kind of like that. The G sounds pretty sanitized. I was surprised by the sweet exhaust note on the 370Z- it brought back memories of the rumble of my old LS1 V-8.

I am also new to the forum. I have a 2010 370 Nismo. It is fairly noisy inside the car. But I think that is due to the lack of sound deadening material. That stuff is actually very heavy. I have removed from a couple of our street cars turned into race cars. As far as the paint chips, I have not had any real issues with that, but you can get the clear bra material from 3m which is awesome. As for the tire wear, I do not have any issues, sounds like the alignment (camber) may be off or perhaps a bent control arm, which could screw up the alignment.
I replaced my suspension with controllable lower arms so that I can adjust camber, I also change to KW Variant 3 suspension. I have also done a BUNCH of other mods as well. GTM Twin Turbos, Carbon hood, bigger radiators, secondary oil cooler, aux fuel pump under the hood etc..... The 370 comes with a saddle type fuel tank. Which means if you take on the track and the fuel gets low, you may suffer from fuel starvation (that's bad)
If you want to know more about the 370 just let me know. I will be selling mine because I am ready to start building my next project. The car is great fun to drive

If you don't do it you'll never know! Pull the trigger you won't regret it

I had a g37 6 mt for 3 1/2 years the cars a very different imop. The g37 is much quieter and more or a sport luxury car. My Nismo feels like a race car and is very stiff and road noise is way more. I did test drive a few stock 370's which are definitely quieter. Mine is also red and it defy chips especially on the nose.
If you love it get it
