Where to get a top end run?

Generally,
I have a dead end road where I drive down to the end and make sure no cops are there, then go back up to the start. I can get to 110, considering the curves and it's a two lane road. Where do you guys go? The interstate is way too much of a chance to get a high speed ticket.

This thread is going to get locked down b/c this web site frowns upon street racing or reckless driving on public roads.

Consider yourself warned!!!

The Texas Mile or similar events give you a standing mile on an old airstrip. It's worth seeing if there's something like that within a few hours of you.

OP, you mean "closed road that your uncle owns" right?

TreeSemdyZee 08-10-2013 01:56 PM

Top end run? Depends on if the defense is blitzing.

I head to the track. I generally hit close to 110... about 109 @ 13.2 to be exact.. :)

LOL, There are plenty of places in the middle of AZ where people like to head out on weekends and race illegally. Doesn't interest me at all though

I would rather keep my car and my body in one piece

Ok, I really can't see the harm in a couple bursts on an interstate. Not street racing and is pretty safe during early morning with almost no traffic. Did it in my Ferrari most recently to about 150 on I-16, 130 in Miata when I got supercharger & new tires. It's a risk but w/ good judgment is worth it just to see... However explaining to an officer that “my Ferrari needed to stretch her legs” is not guaranteed to be understood.

On the PA turnpike, empty 2 mile straights is where I've hit the limiter. Parts of the turnpike are super wide and super straight and not many cars or cops around. I don't usually plan these things, going up to Harrisburg to visits a friend, im cruising at 95mph comfortably, see a huge straight im already in 5th so i just gun it to redline. Car was totally stable and smooth.

The idea here is as for the Forum Rules is

IF you are going to engage in an act of Racing breaking past the speed limit on a PUBLIC Road or Highway regardless IF you are all alone or not?

It's still illegal and NOT allowed to be discussed here.

Now if the exhibition of speed is on a PRIVATE Rd being reasonably safe of course or at the Track? Thats acceptable.

WE don't need kills stories or hearing of people getting hurt from shear stupidity here so PLEASE drive safely.

*The370Z.com acknowledges that street racing is an illegal activity. We DO NOT condone these illegal activities OR welcome posts discussing street racing or 'kills'. Any posts discussing street racing OR any other illegal activity will be removed with no notice. Any activity or driving that you WOULDN'T do if you have a cop car behind/next to your car, don't post it here.
