Always wanted to go fast

I've always been a car guy but only had trucks. Finally I took the plunge and got a Z. 2011 Touring AT. I am really impressed with the AT, it barkes 3rd occasionally. I don't plan on dragging it or modding much. But the day I got home I ordered Gemini CBE. And a couple weeks ago took it to the track. Here's the results.

I was very impressed with how fast it ran. Traction wasn't much of an issue.

12.86 with a CBE, nice! You should post that vid and time up in the official 1/4 thread.

Enjoy the car.

Welcome to the forums! Cool video, the Gemini CBE always sounds great.

You should match up the Gemini CBE with a BERK HFC or Testpipe for even better results:

Nice runs!

If you pull the brake light fuse, you can do a brake-stand launch to get off the line quicker.

With a tune, you can speed up the shifts.

Thanks for sharing the vids

Welcome! Btw, what was the tuning on that truck? The acceleration seems impressive in the first two or three gears.

Lol. The Mustang was quicker/faster than him but his RT was slower. So if it was a heads up race, yeah, the Mustang lost with the faster time. But I can't remember ever racing anyone at a test and tune.

Either way, the Mustang should have WALKED the 370. Shouldn't have been even marginally close... I still think they were running on 6 cylinders, LOL!

Btw... Lighting up your street tires is a waste of time... It doesn't do a DAMN thing

m4a1mustang 03-24-2013 04:04 AM

I don't agree. Mustang ran a 12.6 which is fairly typical for a stock/close to stock 5.0. That's not going to "walk" a 12.8. The 7AT is quick, especially with bolt ons, and as shown in the video in a heads up race all it takes is the Mustang sleeping at the lights for the Z to make it to the finish line first.

You could tell though that the Z was getting eaten up on the top end.
