Now, what mods for more power? Anybody had success with FI?

Welcome from the dark side.

Glad you are loving the Z. Check out some of the builds. Many have had success going FI. What are you thinking Supercharger or Turbos?

First I would start with exhaust. Get a good CBE and either HFC, TP or LTH. I have Fast Intentions with HFC and it's awesome with good gains. Then either get some drop in filters or the Stillen G3 intake or aFe Takeda Stage II.

After that for more power you would need to go FI.

Not as much, a couple people have gone to the 1/4 mile track after boosted but not with the dedication as other platforms. official 1/4 mile track times
Ring racing or auto-x we have some but no one has really reported in with results ever. Main thing for these is reliability and cooling, the 370z will run hot and after FI even hotter so cooling the car is a big concern.

Ok, thanks.

How hot does it run? I know the old ones needed an oil cooler but I think that mine has one. Do I need to mod the radiator?

Lets get some of the basics out of the way.
What do you plan to do? 1/4 mile, ring racing, auto-x, street
If you go FI I would still add an air oil cooler, probably a 24 row, the stock one is nice for street driving when NA and some light track but that is it. I ran the OEM radiator for a year in Texas without many issues, traffic I saw my water temps could get up so I decided to upgrade and it helped a lot. I would do the fan adjust in Uprev first and see how the car is, many have had success with adjusting when the fans kick on and speed through tuning without needing to upgrade the radiator.

I don't expect the drag strip to cause heat issues (should I?)

It sounds like most of your experience is in the street?

I was debating on the 5.0 before I bought the 370z. I agree on the much improved interior!

BUT like ive said before....... when i sat in the 5.0.... yea it had the power..... and thats great but it didnt have that "sports car" feel and look to it. you know... that feeling you get and you KNOW your in a sports car? yea that feeling.... i couldnt feel it no matter no hard i tried to remind myself 417 HP...... for me... it had to LOOK the part...

the Z for me... was destiny

Right now yes, been wanting to make sure my car is ready for track use before jumping on it with a supercharger.
No need to jump the gun and then break something instantly.
