New member - Looking to buy eventually

Hey all,

I just joined the site today after lurking a couple of times. Seems like some good information on here.

I am an Engineering student about to graduate University next month and already got a job as an Automations Engineer. I am very excited to start. With this new job, I can finally afford to buy one of my dream cars, which is a Nismo 370z. Now before anyone gets excited, I am only looking to buy in about a year from now, however I will be looking around at pricing and test driving over the next year. I just want to pay off my small debts, my current car and save some money to move out/small house eventually. I would also like to save up as much of a down payment as possible to minimize my monthly payments on the Z when it comes time.

My current car is a 2009 chevrolet cobalt 2.2L coupe, which I bought when I started University. It's great on gas and I love it. I have done many modifications on it including adding a turbocharger to it, which really woke the car up. It is a blast to drive now. If anyone is interested in seeing what work I've done to it, you can check it out here:

Bboytaktix's TURBO build

I am also a moderator on that forum. I plan on keeping the cobalt as a daily/winter driver when I get the Z, especially since it's relatively cheap and good on gas.

Hoping to find tons of great info on this site on the 370Z and also share some of my knowledge on cars in general, considering I studied vehicle systems and internal combustion engines during my engineering degree and have also done a ton of work on my own car.

Eventual plans for the Z are to twinturbo it, I've seen a few around online that are gorgeous and put down some nice power. I'll also be researching that over the next year while saving up and looking around for the right Nismo Z.

Can't wait to get my Z!!

Welcome! Be sure to check the Nismo section of this forum, Nismo 370Z - Nissan 370Z Forum
and any special reason you are planning on getting the Nismo over the regular 370z?

yes, after some shopping I've discovered it's only between 2K-5K more for a nismo over a regular. For me, that price difference is definitely worth the upgraded body, upgraded suspension, awesome functional spoiler, Nismo interior and Nismo 19's, the nismo ECU flash is also an added bonus. Plus reviews all say the nismo performs well compared to the regular. Last thing is if I ever want to sell it, I'll still get more for a nismo than a regular Z so it's an "investment" I guess (not really but you get the point). I just LOVE the look of the Nismo. Might have to import one from the US though, prices are a bit cheaper and there are hardly any nismo's around my area.

Yeah def, I got word from another thread that Canadian prices are significantly higher than prices here in the US. Good luck with your future purchase and def use the wealth of knowlege and info on this site to make an informed purchase. :tiphat:

I'm in no rush right now, I've got to settle into my new job, also moving out into my own place this summer, life's a little hectic for now. Give it 3-4 months and I will begin the search process, a few test drives here and there, and I'm hoping by next year to find some clean nismo 370's with under 30k KM's for 28-30k ish, since they are around the 32-35k mark right now. In the mean time, I'll definitely be reading up as much as I can on here, figure out which parts are best and best vendors for those parts (mostly turbo and exhaust parts). Wanna make this thing into a BEAST! sucks having to wait but I do really like my current car and it will hold me until I get the Z haha. Just gotta stop spending money on my current car over the next year :P
