Drive from TX should be fun this time of year. Congrats!

Alright, another 370 in the Chicago area. I feel like I never see anyone on here from the windy city.

I think we're going to have to do a cars and coffee type event like they do in austin and in mid-atlantic.

We are a rare bunch, but I am starting to see a few more here and there.

The Dimer 01-25-2012 12:45 PM

I'd be up for one in a heart beat. I know ChicagoZ has some meets throughout the year but it seems like that forum is mostly 350Z and 300ZX guys, which is cool, but it's always nice to do meets with the same cars.

Jsolo 01-25-2012 09:48 PM

I'm neither, but i'm open to a gathering once a month or so once it warms up.

The portillo's over on 83 just south of 64 is a good place. Big parking lot and the milk shakes are pretty good.

ClrdFrTakeOff 01-25-2012 10:38 PM

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!! I would be up for a meet for sure. My buddy is actually looking to pick one up too in the next month or so. I'm personally quite happy that I rarely see these cars around. I like going my own route. Who wants a "me too" car? Hey I have xxx car. Oh yea? me too. Not my style... unless of course it's a 370Z meet of course. haha

oleg 01-25-2012 11:45 PM

Here you go guys I just created a Chicago group, join it so then later on it would be easier to organize a meet or anything like that.

Nice, I'm in. Usually end of March/April my Z will come out so I will definitely try to organize a cars and coffee type event around then.

Nice! I'm in as well. I'm up for a meet anytime, no need to wait for spring. Blizzaks will get me there rain, snow or shine!

How does this car handle in the snow with winter tires?

No personal experience but I heard it does pretty well for RWD.
I think your biggest issues will always be clearance. Where I live, they are so slow at cleaning the roads...a few inches and your bumper becomes a snow plow.:ughdance:

Holy crap didnt realize there were so many of us here. I know Dan talked about doing an all 370 meet sometime. Once it gets warmer we should set it up.

We organized a chicago group on here, you should join. It's a few posts up. That way we can keep it organized.

Once warm weather arrives I will try to create a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly "cars and coffee" type event so all of us can meet/network/cruise/etc.

BTW love your car from when it was featured as car of the month on ChicagoZ

Jasonle 01-26-2012 07:43 PM

Wish I lived in Chicago!

The commute last Friday was an interesting one, the snow had gotten quite deep by the time I left work. I made it home fine, but in a few spots I did have some trouble getting traction. On one slippery up hill area I actually had to switch VDC off because it kept cutting the engine before I actually got moving. But in general, as long as it's not too much snow and you drive with care, the car handles fine in wintery weather. This is my 3rd winter with the Z and I can say the Winter tires have been a great investment.
