Hello from wannabe 370z Owner

Hello, I am new to the forum and have already enjoyed reading a good bit of the posts on here.

I really want to get a Z in the near future, but having trouble justifying the purchase. I bought my first car, a Honda Civic EX in May 2007 when I graduated college and I am now in grad school, I don't have an amazing income. On top of that, since I financed the car for three years at 2.9% apr I will be finishing it off in a year. It's a great car, great gas mileage. But it's all of our dreams to have an awesome sports car. Basically, it's hard to justify the huge monetary loss I'd get from trading my car in, since I bought it new ($4-6k depending on how giving the dealer is), for a more expensive car. So, in this case there is no logic, I JUST WANT ONE :-D. So we'll see if I bite the bullet in the next few months ;).

Let me know if you have any suggestions, affirmations, or discouragement.

Cheers to all!

Get a job first. If you must have the sports car NOW, live with some buddies for the next few years for $200 a month rent and make sure you save money too. You'll need it when you're 30ish and it comes family time, kid hauler, mortgage, insurance, vacations, gold slippers for the wifey, retirement plan, etc. Otherwise you'll have to give up the nice car to pay the bills. I am 39 years old, 3 kids, and just bought my fancy sports car...ironically, using money I saved 15 years ago....otherwise, it would not have been possible. And I make over 6 figures btw, with the best benefits. Although, my wife does not work. Many others I know with lower paying jobs have wives that work, and they still struggle.

Good luck, it's a great ride...
