New 370z Roadster & Winter Driving
 

Hey all,

Im so happy to be able to write here cause it means Ill be getting my Z today! I live in Iowa and the weather here turns bad sometimes obviously. Whats your opinion on driving this machine in the winter?

How about with the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 on it? Theyre on tirerack for about $1100. Sounds like a good deal to me. Any tips from those of you who live in snowy places?

Congrats on your new Z!. Search the site for various threads about the Blizzaks. The consensus is that with narrower wheels and Blizzaks the Z is drivable in the snow.

A dedicated set of winter wheels with snow tires will get you through the winter with ease as long as you don't try to drive it in snow the car can't clear. :tup:

yes if you search for videos from AK370Z and chuckd05, you'll see them drive through the recent blizzard that hit us fairly hard on the northeast. they're running 18" rims with blizzaks (preferrably 225 or 245mm) absolutely no problem. i bought chuck's set and spacers for 825. rims were used for 2-3 months and tires for i think 1.5 winters. handles great and worth it. basically a necessity if u get a lot of snow

We live in Wisconsin. Driving in fresh snow is no problem. Handling and braking is not a problem. The issue we have is once the snow is moved to the side of the road, most places do a bad job of clearing it from driveways, entrances. The low clearance of the car can will allow it to become a snow plow if you are not careful. I have learned to just leave the "Z" in the garage and drive something with a little more ground clearance. Or, just work from the house on bad weather days.
