possible new owner..help?
 

Hey guys..currently drive a low mile, 03 cobra with about 450whp. i like it BUT...its kind of plain. fast, sounds and looks good but the interior is lacking, styling is, well kind of old, technology is just not there other than motor really. Test drove a new 370z yesterday...was very impressed. power was good and smooth, handles much better and can be pushed harder than my current ride. plus, HIDs, an AUX hook up, much more stylish interior and the potential for good power....what are your thoughts?? should i sell it and get into a Z?

thats what im thinking..i mean for a brand new car the sport package is priced nicely too...coilovers, full exhaust, intake, tune, wheels...man...

You'll love the car even while stock, but you can have a lot of fun with her too :tup:

damn, that is pretty impressive...just got caught in the rain in the cobra, lack of HIDs...dammit

So much power you can add to the car. I love the z and the options. Sport package is well worth it to me.

i cant seem to find a car that i keep for even a year..im hoping this could be the one...if i do get it..ill be a very lively member here for sure

Having driven a few Cobras in the 450-550whp range, you're definitely going to miss the power. FI is going to be a MUST for you otherwise you'll be kicking yourself for selling the Terminator.

so you seem to have been in the same boat...how do you like the Z?

I love it... it could definitely use a lot more power but I have no regrets.

My previous Mustang was only a GT, so the difference in power isn't really a shock like it'd be going from a 450whp Terminator to the Z. Coming from that level of power I think you'd definitely be itching for some forced induction after the "new" wears off.

BTW -- hope you have some thick skin, because it's only a matter of time before the legions of Mustang haters that inhabit this board chime in.

yeah im used to it..im not even a huge mustang fan. went from sti to gti, evo, tundra, to cobra. sooo i just want to find a car and keep it for once ya know..like the way my terminator is set up i cant push it through turns etc etc..when i drove the z it was just fun..and you never know how much you miss simple things like an ipod hook up lol..cobra is just fast ya know

Yeah, I hear you. There's definitely a lot you can do with the Cobra to get it to hook up. It won't be quite like the Z but you can do it.

Of course if attacking the twisties is really what you're after, then a true sports car is probably what you need, and the Z should fit the bill. You can get the Mustang to grip like the Z, possibly even out corner it, but you can't really duplicate that nimble, light on it's feet feel of a purpose built sports car. :tup:

well, if any of you guys know any body that wants a mint 10,000 mile modded cobra...let me know...im thinking i will be happier in a Z
