Sorry about the frustration with the car.
My father picked up a used Mini Cooper last year and it wasn't until after the automatic transmission took a nosedive did he look online and see that this could be a potential issue and he should have stayed away from that year. Some DIY transmission replacement and its been traded in for his first truck - 2021 Tacoma. Point being is that it happens. Always sucks and it is never fun to spend money to fix and lose money to get rid of the problem. When they are working properly (I know, not what you want to hear), the Z can be a fun sports car.
