So far, I went up the Ocoee and down through the N GA Mnts. Went through some area that was super popular with the sports car and sport bike crowd in Chattahoochee NF. After my Savannah fiasco I advance to Charelston up the coast via Hilton Head, where I was thwarted by toll gates erected by rich people (a shame to see our coastline privatized), and the lovely Hunter Island. I have now advanced to Greenville and intend to work my way towards the Dragon, the Natahala and the Blue Ridge. Brilliant "top-down twisties" have been traversed had in every state except UT and NV (I shot from SLC to San Diego on the i15 in a day).

I am not sure how well things are going to work out as far as my car troubles, but at least she's moving again.

The gallery gasket doesn't require engine removal, just almost everything on the front of the engine to get to them. There is a kit that has all the replacement gaskets and fasteners. You'll want to use loc-tite and a punch to stake the fasteners in place to keep them from rotating out. Sorry to hear you had such a piss-poor introduction to the car.

Sorry to start my forum tenure with such a rant. It was an exercise in catharsis really, and in the end, I felt better after doing so, even though I made the good members of this forum absorb the brunt of it.

Nonetheless, I have started a different thread to ask questions about my current mechanical issues and would appreciate any advise that may be proffered.

I could use some advice on Master/Slave cylinder issues...

Again, thanks to all that bore with my rant and offered sympathy and/or advice.

Galley gaskets are inside the timing cover. Your year has chitty paper gaskets that are guaranteed to fail eventually. When that happens your oil pools in the timing cover and your pressure drops. By the time the OEM oil pressure warning light goes on, the motor is already toast.

Replacing it depends on your skill level / tool quantity. When I did it, I had very little of either and it took me a month of after-work nights and weekends. Nowadays it would probably take me 10-16 hours, alone.

That really sucks, I waited for a very long time to get approved also. Like a month or something. I think I have a CV/Axle issue going on 40k miles on it 2009. Maybe its people beating on cars at first and trading out.

A clicking noise? Normal with this car. There's a fix in the DIY section.
