Yeah, but it was only good for I think, 2 years from that point on? Its been almost 2 years, and nothing has broken. AKA, she wasted $2000 heh.

Jebus! Well that really blows! Eh, you live and learn right? Or you live and take the advice of others that know.. or you just live... haha.

I have another question but didn't really know where to put it in the forums. I have one of the "WE OWE" sheets from the dealer. If there are items on there it means that the dealer will install or deliver whatever it is at a later date... Is it a legal binding contract in a way? I'm asking because the dealer owes me something and is refusing to deliver it now that I have purchased the car... Thanks in advance!

MightyBobo 01-08-2010 01:53 PM

What do they owe? Dumb question...

And if they said they owe you something, and they don't want to deliver...well, you know...

rico magic 01-08-2010 05:03 PM

Nope, no dumb questions...

It is the cargo cover for the back hatch. The gist of the story is that while I was negotiating, I asked them to throw in the lighted kick plates and the cargo area cover. The sales manager said, "I'll take it off a car if I have to". I made sure that it was in writing because right before I checked this post I spoke to him and he started to back pedal and say, no I said that if it was standard on the vehicle that we would get it to you. So now I have this slip of paper stating otherwise. He did say that I should bring the "WE OWE" paper work and he said that if it is on there that he would cover it...

I hope that he does, as he was trying to get out of delivering it. Again, I believe this to be a binding document. The bottom of it says that it is good for 30 days from issuance. *sigh* we'll see...

Thanks for the question though!

MightyBobo 01-08-2010 08:42 PM

Ahh, well - I would definitely bring the slip in and show him first. If they continue to deny it, then you have an issue. Til then...dont worry about it...

Thanks! I called the sales manager again and told him that I had a copy of it. So with that he said he'd cover it. Thanks again!

MightyBobo 01-10-2010 08:44 AM

I think they were banking on the fact that you didnt keep it.

Personally, I made a 3-ring binder that holds every receipt for my car, including all of my paperwork I received when I purchased it, and insurance doc's. Never hurts to have a paper trail, Ive found...

rico magic 01-10-2010 09:47 AM

Yep, that is what I was thinking when I talked to him on the phone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he had so many deals that he couldn't keep track of them all.

I also have a binder with all the documentation for my Z since I've taken delivery of her. It is always nice to have that paper trail.

Thanks again!

Just a little update for you. The sales manager is honoring the "WE OWE" form and ordred the neccessary parts for the cargo cover to go into my sport model Z! That battle has been won and now I can just sit back and enjoy her. Thanks again for the help and advice.

rico magic 01-15-2010 05:42 AM

Thanks! Yes, they are very pure in white. The other colors are nice and all, but I still am biased towards the pearl white.

Thanks! I'll make an intro thread in the next couple days once I get some pics. Lately it's been dark when I leave for work and dark when I get back:shakes head:

What did you drive before?
