Default New member... looking to get a 370Z

Hello gents.. I'm looking your get a fun daily and always loved the Z34s from the moment they were unveiled. Basically looking for some guidance as to what can one expect in discounts on a new car and given the fact that Z35s will be unveiled in October has the production of the Z34s slowed down? Quick search inmy vicinity shows me many cars that fit my crrieria (white, manual, sport pkg) but my question is do I jump in one now or wait a bit more to see if discounts get deeper?

Some other basic questions..
1) what are common trouble spots with these cars?
2) real world gas mileage
3) if any one here commutes daily with one and how do you like it for this purpose?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

rear tires going bald
gas gauge going to E

I can get 24-25 city and 29-30 highway, but normally I average 23-24 a gallon after warming up and cooling down.

Why wouldnt you daily a Z?

Those are some great MPG #'s!

I have averaged about 24 MPG mixed use.

I daily my Z. To me it's more than serviceable for the task.

It's not quiet (poor sound insulation, I have CBE and HFC) and it's not as smooth or cushy as a Lexus, but it was never meant to be.

It all depends on your expectations for a daily.

I've driven sporty hatches (GTI) and sedans (WRX) daily, so for me it's not anything I can't handle or too raw. It's all about what you are used to and expect.

It's gonna get you from point A to point B. The real question you must ask yourself is what you are used to and what compromises you are willing to put up with for a fun daily driver with some quirks...

So I got to drive a 17 base coupe with sport pkg in manual today. I think I can deal with the amount of road noise in it.. not really out of the ordinary for such a car. Seems like the dealer wanted to give me about 1.5-2k in discount and that's about it. Is that normal? Given this car's age in the market I'd think there would be more in the way of discounts...

I have a firebird as a daily but I'm letting my brother use it until he gets a new car so I'm driving the Z daily. I love it. It goes through gas easily (that's most sports cars though) and tire wear depending on how you want to adjust the alignment. Hope you get one. Welcome to the fam.

I will agree with others daily driver 23 to 24 mpg, but thats 400 mile range.
Sound a bit loud, but that's just a weekend project to reduce.
Blind spots yep , but set your mirrors and drive knowing where they are.

Cost new , others could help more . I watched and searched tor the used one I wanted and used winter in the northeast to get extra savings.
