haha yeah I plan to get an exhaust and intakes sometime, but that will be a while from now.. If i were to install a 2-din navigation head unit, would that void the warranty??

To the OP, not to rain on your parade, but this is what happened to another 17yr old's car. Mind you he's only been driving it for about 7 months, and it's been in 4 (5?) collisions prior (relatively minor), has had $~7K worth of body work done within a month of this happening.

So yeah, the stats paint a sad picture. So keep the traction control on and don't give in to peer pressure to do stupid things. The car above was totaled by the insurance co.

No not at all, there are a bunch of YouTube videos out there for install. This was the fist upgrade I did on my car and the back up cam as well. I went with the alpine ine-w960 if you go with it shop Amazon I got it for under 500 and definitely get the park brake override because with out it you have to have the park brake on to use the navi

I thank you for the headsup, and I am really appreciative for your concern.. But I can assure you, I am not like the typical 17 year old teen hot heads you all know about. Yes I know how to have fun, but I am safe when I do so. If I want to push the car to its limits, I will simply take it to a track. I have been driving for 2 years now and I have not gotten in any collisions or any violations with the law. However, I have almost got into an accident where somebody ran a red light and nearly t-boned me, thankfully I was able to react quickly and get out of the way. I don't want to sound like a cocky teen (if I do I apologize), but I assure you that I will not become another "statistic". I pay for this car with my own money, thus I respect the car much more. Some people cannot handle the responsibility that comes with these cars.

I was looking at the alpine, I'm very good with car video/audio, so would be doing the install..

I think that's key right there. If one has some [significant] contribution to the car, they'll take much more pride in owning and taking care of it. That was not the case in the incident above. Given his past driving history, I think a corolla or civic is more appropriate. Less likely to do stupid things in shitbox car like that than a ricer boy rally car.

Kind understand what he is saying though, my thing is this, like Crext obviously being 38 I pay for my own car and he does the same at 17 but is invested, if I offer to take someone for a ride after getting nice compliments I usually get the whole, "just don't kill me!" Bit. What I say in return is, "I don't want to harm the car and cost me unneeded bills so you are more than safe!". My point is for sure having an investment is key, plus I'm sure Crext realizes if he were to Eff it up, he would no longer be the proud owner of a 370Z.

Chris, congratulations on getting your Z. I wish my wife would have let me get a Z instead of my G, but it's practically a Z now. Good on you for going to the track and getting it out there rather than the streets. May life treat you well and best of luck on your future endeavors!

Aw haha. Well if you need four seats, maybe a GTR is more practical? ;)

yeah I think about that everytime someone comes up to me and wants me to race at a redlight. I just let them do their thing.. a couple seconds of fun is not worth my life or the car. I truly cannot be any happier, their is no other car thag I would rather own with the exception of one that is 1.1 Million dollars ;). No other car is like this Z to me.
